Ambition24hours Locums is currently recruiting Sonographers for the private and public health sector. We are in search of dedicated Sonographer’s to assist with ongoing locum shifts in various facilities on a National scale.

Minimum Qualifications Required
Bachelor Degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound, recognizable by the HPCSA.
Candidates must be registered with HPCSA as a Sonographer citing Independent Practice.
Depending on departments you will need a Minimum 6-month experience in MSK Vascular, Obs and Gyne, Basic 3D/4D.
Additional requirements: Must have valid SA driver’s license, vehicle and valid SA ID or work permit.
Personal Abilities and Skills
Dependant on departments.
Excellent knowledge of high risk obstetrics and gynaecology, general, small parts, vascular, musculoskeletal scanning techniques, protocols and procedures.
Sound knowledge of diagnostic radiography procedures and imaging, including computerized radiography (CR).
Knowledge of radiographic procedures, equipment and accessories associated with relevant techniques.
Sound knowledge of radiation control regulations; safety measures and policies.
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and other relevant Acts, policies and regulations.
Knowledge of basic Quality Assurance procedures in diagnostic radiography.
Ability to perform and record basic quality assurance tests as per Radiation Control Directorate.
Sound communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
Basic Skills for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers include:
Solid technical skills for operating the equipment and getting usable images.
The physical skills of good hand-eye coordination to move equipment on the patient’s body in correspondence to what appears on the screen.
Stamina to stand for long periods of time and the ability to lift and move patients as needed.
Important people skills include having compassion and the ability to help patients who might be in extreme pain or mental stress to relax.
The diagnostic medical sonographers must be detail-oriented to distinguish subtle differences between healthy and unhealthy tissues.
